Some of us understand at this point just how much the IRS was being used--illegally--for political purposes over the past few years. But whether you agree with that assessment or not, every single American should be offended that when lawfully pressed for information as to the extent of its perfidy, the IRS instead lied, concealed, evaded, and delayed. Now the IRS Inspector General has discovered in West Virginia the existence of more than 32,000 emails that Commissioner Koskinen said were searched for extensively, and simply no longer existed. This is in addition to the tens of thousands of other emails that have been discovered previously that Liar Koskinen said didn't exist too.
He should be fired. He should be prosecuted. And every IRS employee who was complicit in his criminal activities should be prosecuted as well. There can be no excuse, NONE, for this kind of governmental malfeasance. And no one, not right or left, should defend this kind of lawlessness. Particularly this kind of lawlessness from the agency most feared in America. Any defense of IRS corruption at this point is a willing surrender to despotism.
Why won't Mr. Obama fire Koskinen? Because Koskinen is doing the exact job he was put at IRS to do for Mr. Obama. Whether this IRS criminal conspiracy goes all the way to Mr. Obama or not, Mr. Obama is putting himself into the position of abetting after the fact the crime. The only reason I could imagine at this point that Mr. Obama would actually want Koskinen to remain--because at some point the MSM will finally find a way to be offended at what is supremely offensive at IRS--is because the original order to IRS to break these laws came from a level far higher than the Commissioner's office at IRS.
If you believe Mr. Obama to be a good man--I obviously don't--then you should wonder yourself just why it is he is tolerating this kind of criminality. Who does it benefit? Does it benefit you to have a lawless IRS?
Edit: To his credit Basil Smikle, Democrat operative, is calling this perjury and saying that there is apparent obstruction. What is shameful is that people like him, Democrats who are able to comprehend reality (even if delayed) as it unfolds before them, could seem to fit in a minivan. With room to spare.
